Teacher Ms. Hana

HanaHana Byun has a strong professional background in education and a warm dedication to each and every child in her care. These qualities make Magnet Montessori Preschool a special place to learn, play, and grow.

Hana earned a Bachelor's Degree in South Korea with a major in teaching English. She and her family migrated to America, where she received a Masters Degree in ESL instruction. She has many years of training in educational theory and methods of providing a structured learning environment.

She became excited about the Montessori teaching method and joined the American Montessori Society in 1993. After two years of rigorous training (theory and practicum, class and internship) Hana earned degree specializing in teaching children 2½ - 6 years of age. For 10 years, Hana taught in Montessori schools in New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia. She held her most recent teaching position at Primary Montessori School in Rockville, MD, and Montessori School of Northern Virginia in Arlington, VA. Now she proudly runs her own Montessori Classroom at her home located at North Potomac, MD.

Throughout the years, Hana has collected top-notch teaching materials, and built up an arsenal of ideas and experience. Parents have commended her for her daily dedication to unlocking the potential of every child. Many of her students have moved on to find great success, attending honors schools and developing extraordinary talents. A Montessori education can bear wonderful fruit in your child, but it takes a teacher with great dedication, expertise, and patience. Hana's professionalism and dedication will ensure that your child gets the most out of the program: attention to his/her social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative needs. Hana is truly excited for you to see your child with time and patience reach new heights as he or she learns, plays, and grows at Magnet Montessori Preschool!
